Chelsea is the Best Hairstylist! – I have been getting my hair done with Chelsea for years. She's made me a confident blond, a fiery redhead and natural brunette. Form having her flat iron my hair straight to giving me a great up do. Whatever the occasion may be she will give you an honest opinion of how you will look your best. Chelsea is a true artist & takes pride in her work! I have always left the salon feeling drop dead gorgeous. I would follow her anywhere! In fact I just came to visit Bend to get my hair done last week from Washington DC! So worth it....I Love her new salon, Lemon Drop.
Great Mens Cuts – Chelsea had been cutting my hair for the last 3 years before I had to move away for law school. She does an excellent job for guys that want to keep their hair stylish and neat; is always friendly, upbeat and has interesting stories... If I wasn't a poor law student, I'd would go back home more often just to get her to cut my hair. She is that good. Seriously.
Best Stylist – Chelseas started doing my hair when I was 13 years old! She was so good that I would travel back from college and medical school so she could cut/color/style my hair. I have yet to meet a stylist that is as good as she is!! I always received compliments and have referred numerous people to her.
Chelsea is a RockStar Stylist – Chelsea has been my hair stylist for a few years now, and I have *never* been disappointed, after she's worked her magic on my hard-to-handle hair. She is a masterful colorist, whether you prefer the natural look or fun and funky bright colors. And her cutting skills are fantastic! I've had both long and short hair in the time she's been my stylist, and she's had terrific ideas and results for both extremes and the painful in-between lengths. In addition to her skills as a stylist, she's a lot of fun to be around. I'll miss chatting and laughing about anything and everything. I highly recommend Chelsea if you're looking for a talented, creative stylist. Bend and Lemon Drop Salon are lucky to have her!
Almost a good salon, but not yet. – I had read these rave reviews and thought I had finally found a place outside of Portland or Houston where I could trust to get great color. I was sadly mislead.
I gave it two stars, one for being in a great location and another for being a pretty salon.
I originally called to get an appointment with Stephany but she books her own appointments. I waited a couple of days and was getting desperate to find someone to touch up my roots before I went on vacation. I called the salon again and they recommended someone else.
Disaster is to follow.
I should have walked away when she was felt the need to tell me that "everyone goes dark for winter" and I should get more low lights. That is not what I wanted. She is new to the salon and probably new to doing hair as she was taken to the back, because as she said "she is new to this color product" and gone about 20 minutes. She comes back and starts to foil my hair. I have very fine hair and this usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes. I sat there for over an hour and half as she foiled. When it all came out I could barely tell that she touched the roots and I felt cheated and like I couldn't say that it wasn't at all what I wanted. The roots still look as long as they did when I went there except now there are more low lights in a color I hate. It actually makes me sick to look at my hair!!!
If you are going to charge $95 for a partial, at least perform like it is a $95 color.
I feel like I wasted 4 hours and $95. I don't feel like I can return and ask for someone to touch up the roots as I wanted them in the first place because while the salon is beautiful it everyone in seemed to be a little grumpy and I don't feel like anyone would listen to my concern.
I will be traveling back to Portland to have my roots touched up on NW 23rd at a Salon that charges the same rates and way out performs Tangerine.
Best of the West – I think Stephanie McDevitt needs to move to Arizona or I need to win the lottery so I can travel to Oregon every time I need my hair done. Better yet - if I won the lottery I would just hire her to live with me and then I wouldn't have to share her!! Everything about Stephanie and the shop was great. As soon as I got back to work - in Arizona - everyone was asking "Who did your hair - it looks great" Unfortunately I had to tell them they would have to travel to Oregon to have theirs look as good as mine!! It is very hard to find hair dressers that focus only on you while you are there - most times they answer phones, talk to other people in the shop, and you end up with lopsided or fried hair - but not at Tangerine! This is the best hair cut and weave I have had in years! Thank you Stephanie.
Stephanie Corr is Great! – I had just moved to Bend and needed a haircut VERY badly. I didn't even know where to start to find a stylist. One day, while driving on Minnesota in Downtown Bend I noticed Tangerine. It looked cute, and clean, and is in a trendier party of town, so I decided to stop in. Stephanie just happened to be working that afternoon, so I asked if I could schedule an appointment ASAP. She got me in right away (within a few days). She listened to what I wanted (I can be kind of picky, and detailed-oriented) and then proceeded to actually do exactly what a I wanted! She did a fantastic job. I love my hair and will definitely be going back for my next cut. Thanks Stephanie!
Natasha and Tangerine are great! – There is a hair goddess and her name is Natasha! I was in Bend on vacation from Colorado and desperate for a haircut --not just any haircut, but a great haircut. Natasha was recommended as was Tangerine. When I left, I felt like a queen. Here are the highlights: Personality, Price, Parking (right in front) and Pert, "Posh Spice" haircut (per my request & photo)! Natasha - who is totally applealing - listened to me but also gave me her opinions - key! She also explained how she was styling my hair and suggested a specific shampoo. (No sales pressure as it wasn't even a product she sold.) I highly recommend Natasha and bet it's a safe bet to visit any of the stylists at Tangerine. What a gem, what a find!
best experience ever! – ok, i just have to let you know... i look great! i'm not trying to brag i am just really impressed with myself right now... of course i would have to thank my new best friend/ miracle worker stephanie hand. so i started off the day just pulling my hair back in a raggedy pony tail as per usual, and headed downtown to meet a friend for lunch. i happened to park in front of thump coffee and decided to poke my head inside of tangerine, just to check it out. i was greeted by stephanie and struck up a conversation with her. she just moved here from san francisco, where she was working at some fancy salon on haight street. anyways... we discussed the possibility of her doing something with my hair needless to say, she sqeezed me in that afternoon. she listened to me, asked me questions and explained exactly what she was going to do. she was very sweet, but didnt insist and chattering away the entire time, which was nice to just relax. i got a beautiful head of shimmery blonde highlights, and the best haircut of my life. not to mention a great lunch at staccatos, but more on that in a different review. my hair is long, with beautiful layers blended throughout, and my color is UNBELIEVABLE! like i said before... she is my new best friend!
