Hoodoo Ski Area is nice for beginners and kids. It is a nice place for begginer skiers and snowboarders. Not far from Black Butte, and the slopes are pretty. Rentals and ski shop are available as well.

Great for sledding.. This is a really good place to go if you like to sled. We had so much fun. The lodge is small, but works when you are cold and need to get warm. Easy to get to from Black Butte and not really that far from Salem.
