Bad Service and Worse Food Poisoning!. As soon as we entered Toomie's Thai Cuisine, we were greeted by a young scruby-looking kid, that had long dirty uncombed hair, and had an unattractive nose piercing visible. As he sat us down at the table, it felt like he was rushing us to order food. After we placed our order (I had the #21) the one and only time we saw our waiter was when he brought us the food. After that, nothing! Not even, a "How is the food tasting?" Also when other waiters/busers pass by, no one filled our water glasses up. Finally at the end, I was dying of thirst and asked a passing waiter to please fill our water glasses. He only filled one out of 3 glasses there. Again another waiter passed, and I asked "Can you please fill everyones glasses?" And still only filled 2 out of 3 glasses. About 9 hours later my stomach was hurting, and I ending up vomiting 5 times and having diarrhea all night long. I'm not from Bend, so if you don't want food poisoning, then go somewhere else!!!

Great food, great atmosphere, great people. Toomies serves great Thai food. We are lucky to have them in CO. They are a cut above the typical chain type Thai places that are springing up all over. Their basics are great as are their specialty dishes.

The same wonderful staff will serve you time and time again, without the attitidue and pretentiousness demonstrated at the place around the corner. Toomies is a special place for our family and we will continue to go back time and time again.

somewhat expensive for thai food, but expect a great meal. This place is a nice, tasty place for a date or even a group of friends. I would bring people there and tell them they will love it.

Great for Food, Long waits, not so great service.. As far as Thai food goes this places is great. I am from Los Angeles, and am familiar with horrible to fantastic Thai food, as Thai food is easier to get than McDonalds around here. I have eaten here twice and would highly recommend it. I disagree with the "bitter aftertaste" previous review. I would say the place needs better service and shorter wait times. This aspect can be quite frustrating.

Bitter taste. The restaurant looked nice from the outside. The waiter was friendly. Food was terrible and overpriced. We ordered 3 different dishes and all 3 dishes had a very bitter aftertaste. I've had much better and cheaper Thai food in many other cities. This place is probably best for those who don't have much experience with Thai food and therefore don't know what it's really supposed to taste like.

Great Thai for Central Oregon. I've eaten at many Thai restaurants in much larger cities, and found Toomie's to be a great surprise---especially for Bend! The ingredients are extremely fresh, the menu large and varied enough to please everyone, and the dishes are very flavorful and as spicy as you like. Excellent green curry---try the Lotus Talay (a seafood-stuffed whole artichoke in green curry) for a truly unique and delicious entree! The only drawback is the ambience---too-bright lighting and sparse decor, but then again you find that in many asian restaurants. Ignore it and focus on the food!

Great Food!. The food was great, the menu was huge and the prices weren't bad. The service could have been quicker, we were seated right away but it took about 10 to 15 minutes before the server came to our table to take our drink orders. But once the food was on the table, we were happy.

Go for the wait, stay for the mediocre Thai food.. We had a terrible experience at Toomies. I have been to many Thai restaurants, and found the food at Toomies to be just OK. The service was in a word, terrible (with the exception of the bus staff). We waited 20 minutes from seating to get our drinks, and another 30 after ordering just to get our soup. That's 50 minutes from seating to get soup. Meanwhile, people who were seated after us were out the door with their doggie bags. After finishing our soup, it was another 20 minutes to get our entrees which were mediocre at best. Orders were forgotten, and there were no apologies for the poor service. For those doing the math, that's 70 minutes of waiting for ordered items. In that time, I could have done something more pleasurable ... like having a tooth drilled.
